The 9th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2026 concluded successfully on 9 February 2026 in Kharian, with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praising the participants for their combat abilities, professional skills, and high morale.
The multinational exercise brought together troops from 19 countries for a rigorous 60-hour patrolling and tactical challenge in semi-mountainous terrain. It tested participants’ endurance, operational competence, and teamwork under demanding conditions.
Field Marshal’s Remarks
During the closing ceremony, Field Marshal Munir commended all teams, both local and international, for displaying exceptional professionalism and resilience. He said the competition underscored the strong combat readiness of the soldiers.
Moreover, Munir highlighted that such multinational engagements are vital for strengthening cooperation and mutual learning among armies from different nations.
About PATS 2026
Organized by the Pakistan Army, the Team Spirit Competition is designed to enhance tactical skills and interoperability through realistic military testing. The event also promotes the exchange of best practices, teamwork, and innovative combat techniques.
Participating nations included teams from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Nepal, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Turkiye, the United States, and Uzbekistan, among others. Several countries also attended as observers.
Strategic Importance
Military analysts say the event helps prepare forces for modern warfare challenges by fostering camaraderie and shared tactical knowledge. It also underscores Pakistan’s role in hosting one of the region’s most prestigious multinational military exercises.
