Pakistan Issues Airspace Advisory for Islamabad Flights

Islamabad – March 14, 2026: The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a new airspace advisory for flights arriving at and departing from Islamabad International Airport.

According to the notice, six sectors within the Lahore Flight Information Region will temporarily close on March 16.

    Temporary Airspace Closure

The affected airspace will remain closed from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.

Flights already in the air during this time will not receive immediate landing clearance. Instead, pilots will keep aircraft in holding patterns until authorities reopen the airspace.

Pilots Asked to Carry Extra Fuel

Authorities have also instructed pilots to carry additional fuel. This step will help aircraft manage possible delays while waiting for landing clearance.

Airlines may adjust flight schedules to minimize disruptions.

    Regional Tensions Affect Aviation

Officials say the advisory comes as aviation operations face challenges due to rising tensions involving IranIsrael, and the United States.

The ongoing situation has disrupted flight movements in several countries across the region.

    Impact on Flights

Because of these developments, both passenger flights and cargo operations may experience temporary interruptions.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and may issue further updates if required.
