Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the province’s first mobile police station and driving license unit, introducing a major step toward modernizing public safety and service delivery. The initiative aims to bring police and licensing services directly to citizens’ doorsteps.

A New Era of Mobile Policing

The newly launched mobile police station will provide essential law enforcement services — including complaint registration, FIR assistance, and verification — in remote and urban areas alike. Equipped with digital tools, the mobile unit is designed to ensure quick response, transparency, and accessibility for citizens.

CM Maryam Nawaz said the initiative reflects her government’s commitment to “citizen-centric policing”, ensuring that people, especially in rural and underserved areas, can access police services without facing bureaucratic delays.

Mobile Licensing Unit for Public Convenience

Alongside the mobile police station, a mobile driving license unit was also inaugurated to facilitate on-the-spot issuance and renewal of driving licenses.
The unit is integrated with NADRA and traffic police databases to streamline verification and reduce manual processing time.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the mobile licensing facility will help reduce crowding at traffic offices and make licensing more efficient and transparent.

    Promoting Safe and Smart Punjab

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said:

“Our goal is to make policing accessible, technology-driven, and accountable to the public. Every citizen deserves safety and ease in dealing with law enforcement.”

She also directed the Punjab Police to expand the service across all districts in the coming months. Authorities confirmed that more mobile units will soon be deployed in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

    Conclusion

The launch of Punjab’s first mobile police station and licensing unit marks a milestone in digital governance and public service reform under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership. The initiative aims to build a more responsive, transparent, and citizen-friendly police system.
