CCTV Shows Deadly Police Encounter With Robber in Karachi

Karachi – March 14, 2026: CCTV footage has surfaced showing a dramatic police encounter with an armed robber in the Landhi area of Karachi.

According to reports aired by ARY News, the footage captures the suspect’s movements and the quick response of police officers.

CCTV Captures Start of the Incident

The video shows two friends standing on a street when they suddenly hear gunfire. One of them runs inside a nearby house for safety. The other leaves his motorcycle and escapes on foot.

Shortly after, a suspect wearing a white shalwar kameez appears in the footage. He is seen running through the street while carrying a pistol.

Police Chase the Suspect

Police officers quickly begin a chase. Some officers pursue the suspect on foot, while others follow him on motorcycles.

During the chase, the suspect reportedly hides the pistol inside his clothing and turns into another street.

Residents standing at a nearby corner inform police about his location.

Shootout Ends in Suspect’s Death

Police soon confront the suspect, and a shootout takes place. The exchange of fire results in the suspect’s death.

Police later identify the deceased as Abu Bakr, son of Sher Akbar. Locals also knew him by the name Raju Ram Chand.

Separate Encounter Leaves Two police officers Injured

Meanwhile, Zia‑ul‑Hassan Lanjar has sought a report about another police encounter with robbers in the Defence Housing Authority.

Officials say two police officers were injured during the exchange of fire.

The minister has directed the SSP South to submit a detailed report. He also ordered authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured personnel.

Police say investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
