RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have successfully eliminated 15 militants belonging to the Fitna-al-Khawarij group during multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing ISPR announced on Tuesday.
Operations Conducted in KP’s High-Risk Zones
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out in areas where terrorists had been actively involved in attacks on security personnel and civilians. The militants were neutralized after intense engagements, and weapons along with ammunition were recovered.
The ISPR stated that the forces acted swiftly on confirmed intelligence reports, ensuring no collateral damage during the operations.
Khawarij Network Targeted
The Fitna-al-Khawarij faction, commonly associated with extremist ideology, has been linked to several acts of targeted violence in the region. Officials say the group has been attempting to reorganize, but recent operations have significantly weakened its operational capability.
