Babar Azam, Pakistan’s all-format captain, was once again named the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year.

The superstar batsman amassed 679 runs in 2022, averaging 84.87 over nine games, including three hundreds.

Babar’s remarkable record carried over to the 50-over format, when he scored fifty or more eight times and made three hundreds. Babar’s 84.87 point average at the end of the year is incredible.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, the ICC praised Pakistan captain Babar Azam for “match-winning innings, spellbinding stroke-play, and unforgettable moments from both his personal viewpoint and his team’s standpoint” in 2022.

“And it wasn’t just from an individual level that Babar thrived, with the Pakistan captain also leading his team with aplomb and to just one loss throughout the year,” it added.
