WhatsApp Will Allow Voice Messages As Status Update

Since the messaging app already allows users to send voice messages to regular chats, the upcoming feature update to allow voice notes as status sounds awesome.

According to a report by WaBetaInfo, the new function will be available in the text status section of the app for users who have downloaded the Android beta update. Even more impressively, the messaging app permits you to limit who can view your Voice Status update.

The app will also include the option to delete a recording before sharing it, giving users more authority over their spoken word.

It is unclear if the play/pause function will work as smoothly as WhatsApp’s standard messaging feature. The voice status function has not been updated to indicate whether or not it will include a rewind or edit feature. When the feature is made available to more users, we should have more information about it.

This functionality, however, has a time limit. It will only be possible to record a 30-second voice note.

Not only that, but just like the photos and videos you currently post as Status on WhatsApp, the voice notes you share through the Status section will be deleted after 24 hours.
