On Thursday, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Sheeza Fatima Khawaja said the National Youth Council was created so that young people would have a voice in policymaking, and that 138 different Green Youth Movement clubs would be established in universities all over the country as part of the initiative.

The problem of climate change, she remarked during a meeting with Christopher Frenzel, Coordinator of the German Climate and Energy Partnership, could not be tackled without mobilising the youth. The Green Youth Movement sought to educate young people on the dangers of global warming. She said that Pakistan was eager to work with Germany to combat climate change.
