Rana Sanaullah, the minister of interior, declared on Thursday that Nawaz Sharif will be the PML-N party leader in the forthcoming elections because the party needed him.
While addressing the media, he said that Maryam Nawaz, senior vice president of the PML-N, would also be taking part in the campaign and that she would be returning to the nation the next week. Answering a query, he said that Ms. Nawaz may become Punjab’s first female chief minister.
After saying that the PML-N had concerns about CM Elahi’s confidence vote in the Punjab Assembly, he said that the party had been falsely accused of engaging in horse trading, and he urged the court to take this into account. He went on to say that PTI leaders were “not content” with the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.
While discussing elections, he said that it was conceivable that balloting might be delayed by as much as three months. Despite the fact that “election within 90 days is bound by the constitution,” he said, “there are other clauses in the constitution as well.”
He said that PTI chairman Imran Khan may be disqualified over the Terrian White case and suggested that Mr. Imran be detained for the Toshakhana matter “if it was legal.”
