PM Shehbaz Calls A PML-N Meeting In Lahore To Discuss Who Will Serve As Interim Chief Minister Of Punjab

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a consultative meeting to review the political strategy and names offered by CM Parvez Elahi, one day after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced its nominations for the interim chief minister of Punjab.

At his residence in Model Town, the provincial capital, the premier will preside over the meeting.

Federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Azam Nazir Tarrar, Malik Ahmed Khan, and Ata Tarrar, as well as other PML-N officials, have arrived at the meeting location.

The meeting is expected to finalise the opposition’s nominations for the top seat and debate the names provided by PTI for the interim chief minister.

After receiving clearance from PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Parvez Elahi said on Sunday that Ahmed Nawaz Sakhera, Naseer Ahmed Khan, and Nasir Saeed Khosa have been nominated for the position of caretaker CM in Punjab.

He said that one of the three names was likely to be chosen.
