Two members of the Punjab Assembly who were absent during the vote on the confidence motion against Chief Minister Parvez Elahi have been issued show cause notices by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Momina Waheed and Chaudhary Faisal Farooq Cheema were both served with notices.
Both MPAs have been charged with proceedings under Article 63-A of the Pakistani Constitution, which might result in their disqualification from office.
In the past, the PTI had planned to file complaints with the ECP against five members of the Punjab Assembly who had skipped the vote on the confidence resolution.
In addition to Momina Waheed, Faisal Cheema, Dost Mazari, and Chaudhry Masood, there is also Khurram Laghari.
It’s worth noting that Chief Minister Parvez Elahi received 186 votes from the Punjab Assembly in the midst of a heated debate late on Wednesday night.
