Najam Sethi Will Attend The International League T20’s Opening Ceremony

Najam Sethi will attend the International League T20 opening ceremony in the United Arab Emirates. On January 13, the first season of the ILT20 will kick off with six participating franchises. He will convey Pakistan’s position about the 2023 Asia Cup.

While in the UAE for the International League T20, Najam Sethi, chairman of the management committee for the Pakistan Cricket Board, will meet with officials of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Sethi, it has been reported, will fly out to the UAE on January 12 for the ILT20’s opening ceremony, having been invited there by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

Sethi intends to be present for the opening and other events. After India’s announcement of its withdrawal from the 2023 Asia Cup in Pakistan, ACC president and BCCI general secretary Jay Shah said that Pakistan will submit its case for hosting the tournament.

The chairman of the PCB will meet with ACC officials to try to iron out their issues. During his trip to Pakistan, Sethi will also speak with ICC officials about hosting the Champions Trophy in 2025.

Pakistan will play host to the Asia Cup in 2023. As a result of their political disputes, however, India is unlikely to go to Pakistan anytime soon. In 2008, Pakistan last played host to an Asian event.
