Pakistan has reported 22 new cases of Covid-19 in the previous 24 hours, including 2 fatalities.

Twenty-two samples were found to be positive for Covid-19 out of a total of 5,126 testing, as reported by the NIH.

There has been a dramatic increase in the number of confirmed cases, which now totals 1,575,855, while the national death toll stands at 30,638.

The percentage of those who tested positive for COVID was 0.43.

On Tuesday, officials from the Sindh Health Department verified that the Omicron variety of the X bacterium, including the XBB and XBB-1 sub-variants, are present in Karachi.

The new Covid-19 type, XBB and XBB-1, has been found in six people in Karachi, according to a statement from the city’s health authority.

They did, however, verify that the highly contagious BF type hadn’t yet spread to the South Asian country.

Infections with a coronavirus, namely BF.7 or BA.5.2.1.7, a sub-variant of the highly contagious Omicron form, have recently spiked in China.
