Due to the deteriorating pollution condition in Lahore, the Lahore High Court ordered the government to extend the winter holidays of schools and institutions in Lahore by seven additional days on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) announced its decision to close schools while considering petitions requesting its involvement in the management of pollution.
The court has also issued an appearance notice for the director general of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The court stated throughout the trial that smog is being partially managed. The government must do more to reduce pollution, the court said.
The hearing was postponed until Friday by the court.
