CM Pervaiz Elahi Will Seek A Confidence Vote From The Punjab Assembly”: Fawad Chaudhry

Fawad Chaudhry, a leader in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would be seeking a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly.

The PTI leader told reporters in Lahore that Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi will be seeking a vote of confidence from the Punjab Assembly, and that they had the support of almost 187 members.

Fawad Chaudhry said, “Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is ready to dissolve the Punjab Assembly,” and he further stated that they were prepared to run for election in both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

He criticised the federal government for its “failing economic policies,” but he noted that the nation had grown by 6% under PTI’s rule. Adding, “the existing government has ruined the economy,” he stated that they have let the people of Pakistan down.

Fawad expressed his concern at the recent spike in terrorist activity in Pakistan, saying that terrorists have attacked the country’s federal capital. Claiming that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has harmed the government’s foreign policy, he said, “Instability is developing in Afghanistan, which would directly impact our country.”

He reaffirmed his belief that “early and transparent elections” were the only way to end the country’s political and economic difficulties. In addition, he urged that National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accept the Parliament members’ resignations from his party.

“At first, they [the government] dared us to dissolve the assembly, but now that we have, they are running away and making every attempt to avoid the dissolution,” he stated, alleging that the government was terrified of elections.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) suspended the governor’s denotification order the day before and reinstated Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi and the provincial government.
