On Friday, Javed Iqbal, the Deputy Inspector General of the Counter-Terrorism Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), provided the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating the murder of Arshad Sharif with crucial information.
The sixth meeting of the JIT looking into the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif took place today. The members of the JIT spoke with DIG CTD KP Javed Iqbal and gleaned crucial details from their conversation.
Further, the investigating team spoke with the National Police Bureau’s ballistics and forensics specialists on all fronts.
Some of the post-mortem board members were re-interviewed by the team and questioned. To document their testimony, the JIT has decided to call in certain crucial witnesses at their next meeting.
The investigators were given images from the autopsy and the physicians’ remarks were recorded yesterday.
The team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) that examined the body attended the sixth session.
Word on the street has it that the JIT was briefed by the team from PIMS hospital. The doctors’ statements were also recorded by the investigation team.
