To Combat Pollution, The LHC Has Ordered The Closing Of Marketplaces And Eateries In Lahore By 10 PM

Markets and eateries in Lahore must be shut down by 10 p.m. on Wednesday as per an order from the Lahore High Court (LHC) in an effort to reduce pollution levels.

During a hearing on a petition asking the court to take action against pollution, Justice Shahid Karim made the directives.

The court issued the orders allowing the eateries to shut at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The court also mandated a Friday closure of all schools and instructed the education administration to aggressively enforce its directives.

Market closure on Sunday was proposed during today’s session. Nonetheless, it delayed the proposal for the time being.

The court session will resume on December 19.
