Google Has Been Registered In Pakistan

According to government records, American digital giant Google has officially registered as a company with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

To comply with the “Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules, 2021,” the tech giant has registered with the SECP and opened an office in the nation.

According to Syed Aminul Haque, Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, more social media platforms would open offices in Pakistan after the registration of the American Multinational Technology company.

In a short amount of time, TikTok will open up office in Pakistan. He said his ministry will provide full assistance to international businesses despite the fact that many are hesitant to invest there owing to a lack of confidence and a lack of clarity in government policy.

Google is one of the many businesses that has followed the Pakistani government’s lead in registering as a corporation in order to comply with the country’s new social media regulations.

If Google decides to set up a server in Pakistan, data will be secure here. All corporations, including social media platforms, continue to keep their data outside of Pakistan.
