Petition submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to have an inquiry into the party funds of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was accepted by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Farrukh Habib, leader of the PTI, has petitioned the IHC to investigate the PPP and the PMLN’s party funds without delay.
Today, PTI attorney Faisal Chaudhry asked the court to hear the appeal before the holiday break. After noting that many high-profile PTI cases were already set for this month, the chief justice said that the court will also consider requests for expedited rulings on financing disputes before summer break. Eventually, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) instructed the court registrar to schedule a hearing on the matter for December 22.
The ECP’s decision in the PTI’s forbidden financing case was released in August of this year.
