PTI Seizes The Lead In The Third Round Of The AJK LG Elections


Since the third and final round of the AJK LG elections have concluded, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the leading party.

The electoral commission in Mirpur – AJK announced the official results for 114 of the region’s 967 seats.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received the most votes (46), with 38 seats; the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) came in second with 23.

With these victories, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) now holds three union council seats and two municipal corporation seats.

In the third phase of the AJK LG elections, the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference won a town committee seat and the Tehreek-e-Labbak gained a union council seat.

Twenty-one seats on the union council, ten on the municipal corporation, seven on the municipal committee, and two on the town committee were won by independent candidates.

Twenty-three seats in union councils, seventeen in municipal corporations, one in a municipal committee, and five in district councils were all won by PTI.

Nine seats on union councils, nine on municipal corporations, and five on municipal committees were won by PML-N.

Voting for the final round of LG elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) took place in the districts of Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber, all located in the division’s Mirpur region.
