IHC Stops FIA From Arresting Salman Shehbaz

On Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) barred the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from arresting Salman Shehbaz, the son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, upon his return from London.

After hearing Salman Shehbaz’s request for protective bail, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan issued the orders.

As the hearing began, Salman Shehbaz’s attorney stated that his client will be returning to Pakistan on December 11 through Saudi Airlines and asked the court to grant protective bail.

According to the IHC Chief Judge, personal appearance is required while requesting protective bail.

The court then ordered Salman Shehbaz to appear before the IHC on December 13 and stopped the FIA from detaining him upon his arrival at the Islamabad airport.

On Wednesday, Salman Shehbaz Sharif, the son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, made the decision to return to Pakistan.
