South Korea Is Defeated By Brazil, 4-1

Five-time world champions Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1 to get to the semifinals of the current FIFA World Cup 2022.

Following their qualifying, Brazil will face the runner-up from the previous World Cup, who advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Japan in a penalty shootout.

By defeating South Korea, Brazil sent a message to their competitors that they would not be trifled with.

Brazil’s Vinicius Jr. scored the game’s first goal in the seventh minute after Raphinha dribbled past Kim Jin-su on the right and crossed the ball to his feet. Vinicius, in a good shooting position, calmly buried the shot.

Brazil’s Neymar Jr. returned from injury to extend his team’s advantage over lacklustre South Korea shortly after. Jung Woo-young had fouled Richarlison in the box, and Neymar had perfectly placed his penalty stroke.

Just before the break, Richarlison started a push and showed off his great dribbling ability to go by the Korean defence before finding Marquinhos, who passed to Thiago Silva.

His pass set up Richarlison for a spectacular goal that put Brazil up 3-0.

Minutes later, Brazil’s Lucas Paqueta made it 4-0 as Richarlison drove the ball forward from deep and found Neymar, who played to Vinicius. The oncoming Paqueta was able to score a spectacular goal when he drew the ball back across the face of the goal.

After Neymar and goalkeeper Alisson Becker were taken out of the game, it appeared that Brazil’s attack slowed down in the second half, allowing South Korea, who had been struggling all game, to get on the board with a goal by Paik Seung-ho in the 76th minute. However, it was too late for the Asian side to pull off a late comeback.

As Brazil scored four goals for the first time in a World Cup knockout game since 1998, this victory was their most resounding in that tournament since then.
