Pervaiz Elahi, CM of Punjab, has urged Imran Khan, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former prime minister, to put off dissolving the Punjab Assembly.
This information came to light when PTI Central Information Secretary and ex-federal minister Fawad Chaudhry met with Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi reportedly told Fawad Chaudhry in a meeting that PML-Q has no objection to dissolving the assembly but that development work is underway in the province and will take three months to complete.
As a wiser move, CM Pervaiz Elahi has proposed postponing the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly for at least three months.
The message from CM Pervaiz Elahi was delivered to party chairman Imran Khan. Reports citing Imran Khan claimed that the nation will go into default if assembly dissolution was postponed.
According to reports, Imran Khan is standing firm on his belief that new elections must be held immediately to address the country’s current predicament.
