The danger of Google Play Store suspension was avoided when the finance ministry heeded the recommendations of IT Minister Syed Amin ul Haq and agreed to pay Google’s dues.
The minister of information technology and telecommunications, Amin ul Haq, has assured the public that “payments would be made as per the planned time and the paid Google applications will not be stopped.”
He went on to say, “within a month, the Ministry of IT, Finance, and State Bank would establish a plan of action by mutual choices.”
Telecommunications companies were given a month to prepare for the new payment process, and the State Bank was given instructions to postpone the policy’s rollout for the same amount of time, Stated the Minister of Federal Affairs.
After contacting Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to request payment, the telecom operators reportedly asked the IT Ministry for help.
It should be remembered that the SBP stopped paying $34 to several overseas service providers including Google, Amazon, and Meta last week.
This led to speculation on various social media sites that as of December 1, 2022, Pakistani Android users would be cut off from access to the Google Play Store.
