The Supreme Court Has Scheduled A Contempt Hearing Against Imran Khan


The contempt of court lawsuit against Imran Khan, former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been scheduled by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).

On the 2nd of December (tomorrow), a larger bench consisting of Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial and Justices Ijazul Ahsan, Munib Akhtar, and Yahya Afridi will hear the case.

A fifth judge, Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, has been added to the panel.

The parties in the lawsuit have also been served with notifications from the court.

Imran Khan, the current leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and a former prime minister, responded to the Supreme Court (SC) in a contempt case earlier.

“I respect the judiciary but am unaware of the assurance given by the PTI leadership on my behalf to the court”, Khan said in his response
