Farhat Shehzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, has filed a defamation notice for Rs5 billion against Umer Farooq Zahoor, Journalist Shahzaib Khanzada, and Geo Tv for making false accusations against her in the Toshakhana watch selling case.
Close friend of former first lady Farhat Shehzadi reportedly files defamation notice against Umer Farooq Zahoor, Geo Tv, and its journalist Shahzaib Khanzada for their role in beginning a negative campaign against Shehzadi.
Criminal prosecutions will also be brought against Farooq, Geo Tv, and Shahzaib Khanzada, according to the Rs5 billion defamation notice delivered by Azhar Siddiq Advocate.
The notification went on to say that Farhat Shehazadi would have no way to sell the watch to Umer Farooq Zahoor as she would not be in Dubai this year.
Farhat Shehzadi said that the claims were made in an effort to smear her name and make Imran Khan a divisive figure.
The notice has threatened defamation proceedings unless Umer Farooq, Geo Tv, and Shahzaib Khanzada publicly apologise within seven days.
Umer Farooq Zahoor, who apparently owns the costly watch offered by the prime minister, revealed on a Geo News show that Farah sold him the watch in April 2019 for Rs330 million in Dubai.
Umer said he bought the watch from a close friend of the first lady.
