Citizen Of Pakistan ‘Abducted’ In Iran; Family Requested Ransom

Muhammad Khalil, a Pakistani national on business in Tehran, was kidnapped by unknown assailants, who reportedly demanded $3,000 from his family before releasing him.

Adeel, the kidnapped man’s son, informed reporters that his father had gone to Iran on business. His father, he said, is 60 years old, and the kidnappers are torturing him. “My father’s abductors are speaking in Farsi and have asked for a ransom of three thousand dollars.”

“My father was abducted by a taxi driver. The abductors’ gang comprising of three to four people who are subjecting my father to torture. My father runs a business of used cameras and he used to visit Iran and Turkey.”

It was revealed that following Muhammad Khalil’s kidnapping in Iran, his family contacted the Foreign Office (FO) and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation through mail.
