PM Shehbaz Calls A Meeting Of Parliamentary Party Leaders

The political situation in the nation will be discussed in a crucial conference of parliamentary party leaders that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for today (Wednesday).

Details suggest that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called an emergency meeting of parliamentary party leaders for tonight at 6:30 p.m. at PM House. The leaders of the governing coalition will also be honoured during a banquet.

The Prime Minister will consult with members of Parliament before making major policy shifts.

A special session of the federal cabinet was reportedly called by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif earlier in the day to discuss a single item on his agenda.

At the next conference, the crucial selection of the army commander is likely to be considered.

After consulting with cabinet members, sources said PM Sharif would accept the nomination of the new army commander.

In the meanwhile, the General Headquarters (GHQ) has provided the summary for the selection of the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, as verified by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) (CJCSC).

The military’s media wing released a statement from a spokesperson saying that the Ministry of Defense had received a summary from GHQ for the selection of the CJCSC and COAS, which included the names of the six most senior lieutenant generals.
